Different Types of Vibrating Screens and Their Working Principle

Types of Vibrating Screens

Types of Vibrating Screens- Vibrating Screens are the useful mechanical tools that use vibrating screen panels so as to classify the mixture comprising of diverse particles as per the particle sizes. As per the different uses and structure, the Vibrating Screen can be divided into different types and below you will come across some popular and top screens along with their working principles.

Linear Vibrating Screen

This is the type of screen that is driven by dual vibrating motors and when the motors rotate synchronously and reversely and excitation force is created by eccentric block offsets in the direction parallel to an axis of the motor. This overlaps into resultants force in the direction perpendicular to the axis of a motor; therefore the motion track of linear screen is a straight line.

Two motor axis of the screen comprises of the angle of inclination in a vertical direction as compared to the screen panel. With the combined force of exciting force and self-gravity of materials, the material is thrown on a screen surface to move and jump forward in a straight line. Due to the multi-layer screen panels, different specifications of materials is generated and discharged from respective outlets. This helps in acceding achieving screening and classification.

Circular Vibrating Screens

This is completely a new type of screen that is designed with a multi-layer screen for higher efficiency. As per the requirements and types of materials, you can choose between manganese steel woven screen, punched screen plate or rubber screen plates. It is installed like a seat type screen and the screen surface angle can be adjusted according to the projects.

There is a motion track of the screen box which is circular and it uses inertia exciter to generate the vibration. The primary shaft fixed on-screen box is driven by a motor to rotate at higher speed and the eccentric body installed on primary shaft rotates with it, thereby generating centrifugal inertia force, allowing the screen box to vibrate freely and provide the same vibration like a circular track.

Elliptical Vibrating Screen

This is the type of Vibrating Screen with elliptical motion track and due to this fact, it has higher efficiency, screening accuracy and a wide range of applications. As compared to the traditional sieve machine of the same best vibrating screen specification, it has the larger processing capacity and screening efficiency.

The power of the machine is transmitted from motor to the main shaft of the exciter and the geared vibrator via V-Belt and this ensures that the three shafts can rotate at the same speed and can generate exciting force. The exciter is linked with high strength bolts of screen box and this causes the elliptical movement.

Roller Screens

The working surface of the roller screen is designed with a series of rolling shafts that are installed horizontally along with several screen plates. While working the small particles passes through the gap between roller or screen plate and the larger particles are blocked and driven by rollers, moving to the end and then discharged from the outlet. It is traditionally used in the coal industry.

The rolling shafts of the machine are arranged as per the diverse working angles and the speed of the material is always faster when it runs in position with higher working angles. But the speed is slower when it runs in position with a lower working angle. When different materials are running at diverse speeds converge at a certain position on the surface and they start moving axially for even distribution of material on the screen surface.

Rotary Vibrating Screens

This is the type of Vibrating Screen which is widely used for classification of materials with higher screening efficiency and fine screening precision. It comes with a fully closed structure with no flying powder, leakage or blocking of mesh. It features auto discharge with no material storage in machine, no dead angle of the grid structure and a higher screen area.

As the machine is started, the eccentric blocks of diverse phases at lower and upper ends of vibrating motor creates composite inertia force and this forces the vibrating body of the machine to rotate again and again, while the frame of the screen keeps on moving continuously to and fro under the action of the vibrating force. This drives the screen to vibrate periodically so that the materials on the surface can move in a positive and directional manner with the screen box.

So, these were some of the popular Vibrating Screens which are designed by the leading Micromesh Manufacturers in India. The functions and working principles of all models are different and you need to check the Vibrating Screen Specification prior to making the selection to settle with the right product.
